Context Mapping.

Introduction

During the first phase of the project, the academic paper in the link below was written by the  group where the research done by the group members on important topics towards the specific user were explained thoroughly. Such topics are the social trends and the changing perspectives on disability, assistive technologies, human centred design, disability of the user and the co design itself. The paper also includes visual representation such as a storyboard and collages and the paper then concludes with a summarising paragraph of the paper’s content.

Summary

The user has a particular disease called Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, which is a disease which can rapidly decrease the vision of an individual. When he was around twenty years old he lost 95% of his vision in two months. This means he only has 5% vision left and can see outlines of most things like tables, chairs and people.

Co-designing is the process where every stakeholder in the design process is seen as an equal and each opinion is valued equally. This way a product can be designed with input from a specific user and unique insights can be received from a person.
